The Electronics Entertainment Expo 2012 (E3) has arrived, and we’re just hours away from the beginning of the biggest event in the gaming calendar. Gamers worldwide will be tuning in to find out what the future of gaming is, and whilst many people have created a wishlist for the event, we’ve decided to list what we do not want to see at the conferences this year.
Almost every year, one of the big game publishers decides that it would be a good idea to have their conference presented by a comedian, or some guy in their offices who thinks he’s funny. Last year that was Mr. Caffeine at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference. Please, no more! They’re not funny, and they’re not good presenters. About the only comedian who would work well as an E3 presenter is someone like Irish comedian, Dara O’Briain, who is an avid gamer as well as a comedian, and TV show presenter.
Pointless Boring Demos
I don’t know if I’m alone in this or what, but I don’t care to see a gameplay demonstration for a game where we know exactly how the game will look and play. Call of Duty is one of those games, we get it, it’s a shooter, it looks and plays almost exactly like the previous game. The same thing is true for stuff like FIFA and Madden. Please just show us stuff we’ve not seen before, games that claim to be above and beyond the previous iteration in the series or games that have something new to offer. Disclaimer: Additional Call of Duty online perks do not count as a new feature.
